Review Articles
Systematic or narrative reviews synthesizing existing literature on sustainable tourism, responsible travel, or related sustainability topics. Reviews should provide critical analysis, identify research gaps, and propose future research directions for advancing sustainability in tourism. Word count: 6,000-10,000 words.
Research Articles
Original empirical or theoretical research on sustainable and responsible tourism. Manuscripts must present clear methodology, rigorous analysis, and significant contribution to sustainability knowledge in tourism contexts. Research should demonstrate alignment with sustainability principles and offer practical implications. Word count: 5,000-8,000 words.
Case Studies
In-depth analysis of sustainable tourism destinations, community-based tourism initiatives, eco-certification programs, or specific sustainability interventions in tourism. Case studies should provide rich context, demonstrate sustainability outcomes, and offer transferable lessons. Word count: 4,000-6,000 words.
Short Communications
Brief reports on preliminary research findings, emerging sustainability issues, methodological innovations, or timely observations in sustainable tourism. Suitable for topics requiring rapid dissemination to the research community. Word count: 2,000-3,000 words.
Policy Briefs
Evidence-based policy recommendations for sustainable tourism development, governance, and management. Policy briefs should synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations for policymakers, destination managers, and industry stakeholders. Word count: 2,000-4,000 words.
Best Practice Reports
Documentation of successful sustainable tourism practices, innovations, and initiatives from around the world. Reports should detail implementation processes, outcomes, challenges, and lessons learned for replication in other contexts. Word count: 2,000-4,000 words.
Book Reviews
Critical reviews of recently published books on sustainable tourism, responsible travel, ecotourism, climate change and tourism, or related sustainability topics. Reviews should evaluate the book's contribution to the field. Word count: 1,500-2,500 words.
